Why is Udyam checked only after GSTIN?

Unlike the public IEC enquiry, Udyam registration isn't openly searchable. To protect MSMEs from having their details looked up by others, AssureLocker confirms Udyam only after you've proven ownership by an OTP to your GSTIN's authorised signatory — and only for the same PAN.
